Viewed from Lord St the scene features the unusual spired building for many years the well known "Bunneys" store.
The junction itself was generally known as the "Holy Junction" being the crossing point of the roads, Lord St, Whitechapel, Church St and Paradise St

Trevor Owens, a native of Liverpool has worked in banking both in Liverpool and London where he was engaged in publication and editorial work.

Since retiring he has devoted his time to painting mainly nautical and railway subjects
