'Early Summer Morning c1967 (Automeden, Blue Funnel)' Artist: Norman Colebourne Norman E. Colebourde was born in Manchester in 1908. After studying art at Wallasey Grammer School Norman worked for Barclays Bank in Liverpool. Norman always enjoyed his journey to work on the Wallasey ferries. Images of the River Mersey in all its different moods together with the great variey of shipping at this period impressed themselves on his memory. He attended the Wallasey School of Art in Central Park as an evening student and his paintings were submitted to many exhibitions in the area. Norman retired in 1972 and was able to give more time to his painting. Norman died in 1992.
